PanthersCARE Outreach
 
The Fayetteville Panthers Nonprofit Community Support Organization and Minor League Basketball Team have came together to create a program for those suffering from mental health issues to help people cope with thoughts of suicide, anxiety, depression and other forms of mental health problems they are facing.
 
We are aware that many people go through ups and downs during their lives and it leads to mental health issues that they may or may not want to open up about or have someone they trust to open up to. We as the Fayetteville Panthers would like to bring awareness to these issues and offer a program that is completely confidential (unless stated otherwise by those seeking help), to others during their time of need.
 
The PanthersCARE Outreach Program is offered to children, families and even adults of all ages. We are offering this program without age restrictions because we know that mental health problems do not have an age limit and we do not want to exclude anyone from this opportunity, especially those who are seeking help. Given the current environment, conditions and society we are currently living in with the Coronavirus, racial inequalities,  police brutality, loss of jobs, schools being remote, financial hardships, and/or facing the loss of a loved one, we need you to understand that you are  not alone.
 
More importantly there is help out there and we are here to help. Many of our players and staff have suffered from one or more of these mental health issues and we would like to share our stories with you! Some of the services we will be providing are:
  • Confidential Peer Counseling
  • Group Discussions
  • Assistance with obtaining professional help
  • Seminars
  • Youth Friendly Activities 
  • Movie Nights
  • Guest Speakers
  • Big Sister/Big Brother Pen Pal Program
