Fayetteville Panthers at Florence Wildcats

ECBL ACTION

Ranked 14 out of 16 teams in the East Coast Basketball League, the Fayetteville Panthers fought through all obstacles to earn their first win as a Semi Professional Basketball team. The Panthers are not just any old basketball team, they are based off a nonprofit community support organization, Fayetteville Panthers, Inc, that motivates everyone to progress in life and society by lending a helping hand to the youth, families, community and surrounding areas.

Having defeated the odds against them the Fayetteville Panthers were accepted into the East Coast Basketball League for the 2019 Season and opened it up by bringing something different to the table. A low scoring 99-98, defensive victory backed by heart, talent and God led the Panthers to their very first win in history. Our lead scorers, DeMario Black from Warner Robins, GA and Mike Smith from Greenville, NC combined for a total of 47 points out of the teams 99. Black would not only lead the team in scoring with 26 points, shooting 50% from beyond the arc, he also racked up 4 steals and won the Fayetteville Panthers’ first ever Defensive Player of the Game and Offensive Player of the Game Awards.
